I was shoked to find out just how many people came across this problem, and in the flagship of Apple computers! It sounded like one of those kooky things that accidentally worked for one person until I saw all the comments showing how it worked for so many. In a fact I would rather put a paper under the upper case, it's way cheaper. Frustrating as I can get it to work by lifting the edges and pressing hard in the center just above the trackpad… Has anyone brought theirs to apple with a real navigate here
Try this other solution, I found this solution somewhere and it works for me. The machine was then used for a few days by one of the dev's at the office to track down a bug related to the nvidia chipset. It's the only thing that does.I've tried resetting my PRAM, PMC, SM(S?) etc, the "ribbon" trick in the battery compartment but nothing works! I tried plugging a keyboard and a mouse (normal mouse, not bluetooth nor wireless) but still the MacBook is not responding to any of the devices I plugged in, even after All the software hacks regarding Hibernate Modes and other stuff had zero effect.
Unbelievable! I'd be tempted to try it and leave it to see how it goes! The truth is, it is a defect, because if it's causing a problem, then it's a problem. I can use my laptop again!!!
